Editor and formatting status
Pop source is plain UTF-8 text, so any text editor can be used. Configure .pop files as Pop when an extension provides the language grammar, or use a simple plain-text mode otherwise.
The rc.6 distribution exposes pop format, pop lint, pop documentation,
pop test, and pop benchmark for manifest projects. pop --help is the
source of truth for options and target support. The language-server and editor
protocol remain separate tooling components; an editor may still use pop check as a reliable file task.
pop format --manifestPath bubble.toml --check verifies formatting without
writing. The formatter follows the language’s four-space, no-semicolon, aligned
end style; those choices remain conventions for readable examples, not extra
grammar rules.
For quick feedback, connect an editor task to pop check on the current file. The compiler’s source spans and diagnostic codes remain useful even without a dedicated language server.
